Hello lovelies and a big Happy New Year again to you all - 51 of you, would you believe, so thanks so much for keeping dropping by and commenting on my little piece of cyberspace. It's lovely chatting away to you all and discovering all your gorgeous blogs. I will also be running a wee competition (my very first) very soon as a nice wee start to 2013, how exciting, so will release more details soon.
I really can't believe its 2013 already, time really has sped by. At Hogmanay we were talking about how it would be good to have Bernard's Watch (do you remember that programme?) so if time was rushing past you, you could just press the button, time would stop and you could take a breather. I enjoyed 2012, it was a really good year. Nothing particularly special happened but on the flip side nothing awful happened either, so for that I am grateful...and now onto a new year and new adventures and my first outfit post of 2013.
This was my outfit from a few days ago. I didn't have any plans given how shattered I was after new year celebrations, so spent lots of time lounging on the sofa and chilling. But thought it would be nice to have a wee wander into town to get some fresh air so pulled this winter outfit on.
I got the coat and boots for my Christmas from Santa (aka Mama and Papa Whitelaw) and am so chuffed with them. Both are from Topshop and I had my eye on them for months, so I was so happy and lucky to find them in my stocking. The boyfriend coat is so warm and snuggly and I think it is just such a fantastic colour. The boots are so comfy even after the first wear so I know we are going to become best friends as they will go with everything.
I paired these with my new American Apparel jeans. I had seen a few bloggers (mostly Olivia from What Olivia Did) wearing and raving about them, so thought I would have a wee go and I can honestly say they are fab. They slip on like a dream and are so flattering I think, given that they are high waisted and very fitted. Don't be put off by how small they first appear, I was thinking how the heck am I supposed to get my booty into those but I did (thankfully) and have been wearing them to death ever since.
The last thing I really wanted to talk about was my necklace...how gorgeous is it?!? Well done Robin! It's from Tatty Devine, one of the name necklaces where you choose what you want it to say, the colour, the charm and the chain. Robin went in to the Tatty Devine shop in Covent Garden to get it for me as a Christmas surprise. I was so excited when I opened the wrapping paper to see the little black box - perfect! I do love Tatty Devine jewellery as you may have noticed if you have read my blog before.
Finally my top is from Topshop early last year and denim shirt is from Asos. I do love a denim shirt, they just go with everything and can dress down an outfit making it look quite quirky.
What do you think of my outfit? How are you keeping warm in the cold weather? Did you also get some nice Christmas prezzies? If you have written about them, post the link below. I love reading them.
TTFN!
Today's song on repeat - Ho Hey, The Lumineers. I heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago and it is just so catchy and perfect for a sing along. Love love love!
You look gorgeous, I love the coat and boots! Sounds like you had a great christmas and some great presents as well :) For this cold weather Im stuck with my "heavy" winter coat haha, roll on the warmer days! Have an amazing new year

DeleteI totally remember "Bernard's watch." I was always so jealous of him, but to be honest I only ever wanted it so I could get a lie in every day. I'm boring like that. But ahh love your outfit, especially the coat, that is soo gorgeous, I want it. And I hope I don't sound like a creep when I say your dimples are to die for!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog, glad to meet a fellow Gosling appreciator! I got the colouring book too but I'm too scared to actually colour in, I'm rubbish, I'm just gonna ruin it!!!!! :( It's just a decoration piece for now, haha.
