#55. Happy thoughts

I was delighted to find out on Tuesday that the lovely Cassidy from Things Like Skeleton Keys has nominated me for the Liebster Award. When I started Rubyrubyslippers I never expected to have 68 lovely people follow what I am doing and comment on my rambles but you have and that's brilliant so thanks so much!

So getting down to the nitty, gritty about the award...

The Liebster Blog Award is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome in German.

- Each person must post 11 things about themselves

- Answer the questions set for you then create 11 questions for your nominated bloggers

- Choose up to 11 people and link them in your post and let them know

I think this is a great way to get to know new blogs. I don't know about you but I love discovering new blogs!

So, here are 11 facts about me:

1. I am a Taurus, the bull, grrrr haha. 

2. My favourite food is lasange, especially my mum's lasange, yum yum. 

3. I used to do Marine Biology at uni but as I went through I realised I loved theatre so much more and I would rather spend my time working on a show (in my fourth year, Jerry Springer the Opera) than study! 

4. My favourite musical is Hedwig and the Angry Inch - check it out, its bloody awesome! 

5. I love singing and used to sing with an all female achappella group, The Hummingbirds.

6. My most treasured possession is my Gran's wedding ring. I used to wear it on a chain around my neck until someone called me Gollum! haha

7. My Mum is one of 14 siblings and she is second youngest; Margaret and Violet (twins), Davie, Robert and Helen (triplets), George, Alex, Agnes, Jim, Andy, Henry, William, Marjorie (my mum) and my uncle John. I love having such a big family!

8. My imaginary friend when I was little was Peter Pan.

9. I won a drawing competition when I was wee, so got to meet Rolf Harris and the Gladiators. Wolf was a sweetheart and not as scary as I had always thought. 

10. I am terrified of wasps. I am not as bad as I used to be, after being stung about 3 years ago and then proceeding to flash my Dad...but that's another story! Uber embarrassing I can tell you.

11. I don't like wearing watches.

And here are the questions set for me by Cassidy.

1.  How many shoes to do own? I own 19 pairs of shoes...that seems a lot...is it?

2.  If you only had one beauty product on a deserted desert island what would it be?
I think it would have to be my Nivea moisturiser...pretty boring I know but my skin tends to get quite dry and especially on a beautiful but toasty tropical island, it would need all the help it could get!

3.  If you could have any ones closet who's would it be?

If she was a real person, I would say Carrie Bradshaw...have you seen the size of her wardrobe? I used to love watching Sex and the City for all her fab outfits...some are completely wacky but there are so many gems in there. Swoooon!

4.  Favorite Disney movie?

Oooo thats such a hard one as I am such a Disney geek. I have a weakness for The Little Mermaid, it makes me cry everytime and it is the first Disney movie I ever had on video and is a classic. But I am also such a fun of Disney Pixar, especially the shorts, Monsters Inc and Up!

5.  What is your maternal Grandmothers name?

Helen.

6.  What is the best thing you have ever ate?

Oh that's a difficult one too as I love my food I do. My boyfriend Robin does a mean thai chicken curry which I adore.

7.  If you could win a shopping spree to any store what would it be?

It has to be Topshop. I just love Topshop and will always find something great and a little different in there. 

8.  What is your favorite perfume?

Ghost, the one thats shaped like a purple half moon or Benefit's Laugh with me Lee Lee (as that's me!)

9.  What blogs/bloggers inspire you the most?

I love the creativity of A Beautiful Mess and am always inspired by those ladies. I love dipping into A Rosie Outlook and What Olivia Did too, those ladies are brilliant and their posts are always a delight to read. Little Blog of Horrors was one of the first blogs I started reading and I just love Ayden's honesty and how she is so personable and approachable in her posts. Plus Rosie, Olivia and Ayden all seem like really fun girls.

10.  If you had to watch one 90's sitcom for the rest of your life what would it be?

Friends. I grew up with it and could happily sit and watch Friends for hours.

11.  What color is your kitchen?

My kitchen is white. Robin and I are living in a rented flat so sadly we can't decorate it completely the way we would like. When I have my own kitchen, think I would like to paint it yellow.
